Savoring the Fleeting Moment
The morning sun filtered into the room, casting a warm and golden glow on the couple's faces as they lay in bed. Hing watched Cynthia as she slept, her delicate features bathed in the light. He listened to the soft murmur of her breathing, a gentle reminder of the life they shared together, and the deep love that bound them.
As two INFPs, Hing and Cynthia often found themselves lost in the surreal landscapes of Haruki Murakami's novels, where the lines between reality and fantasy blurred, and the mysteries of life whispered secrets in a language only they could understand. They were moved by the power of his writing, and the way nature spoke to them through it.
As they rose from bed, Hing thought of the mountains they had conquered, the sunsets they had marveled at, and the moonlit walks they had taken, hand in hand. They both felt the influence of nature, guiding their steps and shaping their hearts.
Despite their recent struggles, Hing wished Cynthia a happy birthday with all his heart. He felt proud of the person she had become since they had arrived in Canada from Hong Kong, and the tireless efforts she put into her studies and being a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He admired her strength and resilience, and the unwavering commitment she showed to her dreams.
Hing and Cynthia dreamt of the day when they could welcome a cat and a Shiba Inu into their home, to share their warmth and joy with these gentle creatures, and to feel the fullness of life.
In the evening, they sat outside on the balcony, watching as the sun disappeared beneath the horizon, and the sky turned into a blazing palette of orange and red. Hing and Cynthia felt as though they were suspended in time, as if the world had stopped just for them. They savored the moment with all their hearts, knowing that it was fleeting, and that every second was precious.
As the night drew in, they retreated back into the cozy embrace of their home. They curled up on the couch, listening to the soft murmurs of the city outside, and the beating of their own hearts. They both felt grateful for the life they had built together, and for the love that sustained them through both the joys and the sorrows.
As they sat there, wrapped in each other's warmth, Hing remembered a quote from one of Haruki Murakami's novels: "What happens when people open their hearts? They get better." And in that moment, he knew that his heart was open, and that he was getting better every day, thanks to the love he shared with Cynthia. And he loves Cynthia so. Very much so.
